AOL CITYGUIDE NAMES THE ABBEY BOTH L.A.'s BEST BAR AND BEST GAY BAR FOR 2006

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA -- March 8, 2006--The Abbey Food and Bar has been chosen as both "BEST BAR" and "BEST GAY BAR" in Los Angeles by AOL CityGuide "City's Best 2006." This is the second year in a row that The Abbey has nabbed the top spot in both categories. Nominees for this award included some of most popular and famous bars throughout the entire L.A. metro area.

"To once again receive this award, especially because it's our patrons that voted, is such an honor," said Abbey Owner David Cooley. Adding, "a special thanks to all my amazing staff who work so hard in making The Abbey an inviting place for both our local patrons and visitors from all over the world!"

AOL CityGuide considered tens of thousands of businesses. The list was based on reputation, editorial coverage, and feedback from the millions of users of AOL CityGuide service. From October 3, 2005 to February 15, 2006, AOL CityGuide users voted for one nominee per category per city.

Located in the heart of West Hollywood, on Robertson Blvd., The Abbey Food and Bar has become a favorite hangout for locals and visitors alike, along with celebrities like Janet Jackson and Christina Aguilera.

Other accolades include: ZagatGuide's "Best Bar and Best Gay Bar in Los Angeles," also Best of CitySearch.com for "Best Gay and Lesbian Bar," and Los Angeles Magazine's "Best Gay Bar to Bring a Straight Friend To," in its annual 101 Things We Love issue. The West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce designated The Abbey "Best Restaurant in 2003, the WeHo Awards deemed it "Outstanding Restaurant and Bar" five years running and the annual Esquire Magazine Oscar Party, "The Envelope Please," has raised over a million dollars for AIDS Project Los Angeles.
